THURSDAY APRIL 2 Good Trouble Workshop: Making Monsters out of recycled materials
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST

“If Racism was a Monster” workshop led by Kit Loney — making monsters out of recycled materials.

You are invited to join Kit Loney and TINYisPOWERFUL for a two-hour recycle monster-making experience.

We will look at examples of monsters in art, then, after brief instructions, dive into the making. Participants are invited to collaborate, or work individually. It is an opportunity to work with our hands, become inventive with the trash we possess in abundance. The workshop will wrap up with some reflection about our monsters, and suggestions for further exploration.

There will be lots of materials onsite, but feel free to bring favorite saved stuff you may enjoy putting to use!

THURSDAY, APRIL 2 Adrian Rivera Lopez Critical Exchange*
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. EST

“My work is mainly focused on themes of the ‘Other’. Exploring the themes of exclusion, isolation, and relationships through historical events and through the lens of being a first generation immigrant from a town named Magdalena, found in the state of Jalisco in Mexico.

The themes I explore are inspired by the self-reflective art of Frida Kahlo, the politically-charged murals of Diago Rivera, and the compositions of Max Beckmann. I would also mention as a major influence the Baroque style Catholic religious artworks as a former Catholic who grew up going to a church full of sculptures and paintings depicting different religious scenes and people.”

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8 ZINE JAM #2
Bring Your Lunch virtual & in-person
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. EST

A zine jam is like the twin of a game jam and can be broken down into four major components:

a. There is a central theme. The THEME for THIS ZINE JAM is the Importance of Physical Media

b. Each individual and/or group produces their own zine

c. There is a (relatively) small timeframe in which the zine is to be produced. This ZINE JAM concludes on May 7, 2026

d. All of the submitted works are to be published and are distributed in/at the same platform/place — www.TINYisPOWERFUL.org
