CIRCLE OF ADVISORS

Last line of conNECKtedTOO’s mission (2018-2019), which anchored the present active transformation of conNECKtedTOO into TINYisPOWERFUL.

TINYisPOWERFUL inherited the legacy of conNECKtedTOO, including its assets from cash to art tools, archives of events and educational work, relationships with TINY Businesses and a creative place online. Its values and mission have basically remained the same. Its leadership was transformed, still involving some conNECKtedTOO artists, educators, facilitators or youth. New projects are being created. A Circle of Advisors was reactivated.

This CIRCLE is:

– not a Board of a non-profit, although it could one day be transformed in one.

– not a fundraising entity, although some people have helped with suggestions, grants and letters of reference.

– not a group of “inspectors/supervisors”, although it is available for critical exchanges or evaluations when needed or requested.

But this CIRCLE wishes to be a learning exchange, a testing ground, a listening body of activists, artists, educators and youth, a multi-media creative place, a network of relationships, a replica of conNECKtedTOO design as inter-generational, interracial and grassroots, an additional in-kind support

And this CIRCLE comprises Charlestonians and people living as far as New Mexico, previous conNECKtedTOO participants, visual artists, performers and poets, educators, anthropologists, activists and organizers and funders.

Most participants belong to many of these categories by choice and with the understanding of the necessities of Art in/with Community. The Circle has now met seventeen times, gathering between eight and fourteen people each time.

The conversations at the moment are not about people but about concepts, subjects, introductions to policies.
